The difference between rich people vs average people

I think there is a lot of truth to this. However, I disagree with the statement that average people read novels.

Sociopaths can make wonderful world class people.

This mindset describes my grandfather to a tee. After racking up a ridiculous amount of debt in various schemes, he died poor as dirt.

If I have to think like that in order to be wealthy or "world class," I don't want it.

What a bunch of bull crap interwoven with stereotypes and a few good pieces of advice obscured by a strange slant.

Enjoy Applebee's.

I am willing to bet that there are many many people who do a lot of the same things as those who strike it rich but simply don't have the critical element - yes, luck. For all the people who make it rich there are many many more who strive for it, follow the same types of paths and just fall short.
yes, I'm middle class but I simply find it impossible to believe that a healthy dose of luck does not have a LOT to do with being rich - whether it's luck along the way there or luck in being born rich.

So, what you want to do is have a LOT of means. Preferably from your parents or your spouse's parents.

Count me in as another born poor now rich. Don't know why so many DCUMers love to assume we inherited or married into wealth or were just darn lucky.

Could you please clarify 'born poor and now rich'? As in 'born on welfare, now own a private plane'?

Is rags to riches the only way that counts?

What is your HHI and what do you and your spouse do to earn money?

Born lower class--would have qualified for public assistance but my parents didn't believe in accepting "charity." I am not part of the !%--and not the lower part.

No, but I'm genuinely curious as to what is considered poor and rich. Even with regards to the original article - average people do this, while rich people do that. Who are these average people and how are they different from poor and rich?
