When did your DC have a say in their hairstyle?

Wow, OP, you're lucky you didn't get it sooner. I have always let my boys talk to the stylist, except when my 6yo wanted a pink mohawk. I'm not sure he would have gone through with it, but I wasn't in the mood to play chicken.
