| Any down side to keeping it in the freezer versus the fridge? We have more room in our freezer. |
| Tupperware brand canister. After experiencing pantry moths - never again in paper. |
| Those who are talking about moths and beetles, aren't the larvae or eggs of the insects already in the flour? So by putting it in the fridge or freezer, aren't you just retarding their growth? But still eating said bugs? |
Not necesssarily. If you've already got the moths, you're giving them one more thing to snack on. |
Maybe, but at least I don't see them (assuming I use it up before they grow). I'm sure they're nutritious, I just don't want to know about it. |
| I read that a lot of times the pests are already in the flour when you buy it, if they're in there at all, so if you just put it in the freezer overnight when you first buy it, it will kill anything that's in there and prevent it from turning into an infestation. I never do that, but that's what I read. I keep my flour in a plastic airtight container in the cupboard. |
LOL. I hadn't thought of that, but sounds terrible. |
| We use the Oxo containers with the pop tops. |
