New teacher, please reassure me!

There was a new teacher who worked at DD's preschool during the summer before her regular job started in the Fall. She was young, did not have kids which we didn't mind. BEST teacher ever. Energertic, she was creative, gave us a lot of feedback, set boundaries with DD which helped us tremendously at home. The parents were pretty sad when it was time for her to leave. Personally, I would much rather have a new teacher with energy than someone who has been at the job for awhile and burnt out.

Our DS had a new teacher for 2nd grade. I had the same concerns - unjustly so. She was absolutely a fantastic teacher, and we are so grateful he had her. She had great enthusiasm and really, really cared about the kids' success. We are aware that on occasion she sought guidance from other school personnel where she was inexperienced. We still keep in touch with her and look back fondly on that year. Please give your new teacher a chance. You might be very pleasantly surprised.
