There was one, but since it dealt with the topic of body oder, I removed it.

Fortunately the DNC comes later and will have the opportunity to rebound. We know Obama can give a good speech. And when Biden is on message, he can also be pretty impressive.

Should be fun to see how it all works out.

I agree with this, and I'm a democrat. Although there's a chance Isaac could have an impact on the bounce, with the media coverage that will be paid as it makes landfall, especially if it picks up steam and causes some damage.

Obama supporter.

R/R will get a bit of a bounce, assuming Isaac doesn't steal the show (overshadowing news coverage). Obama will get a much bigger bounce, and hold onto it longer.

I'm ocean front on the SE Coast of Florida. If what we experienced last night, 8" of rain and 65mph gusts, is Isaac lite, I fear for the poor folks in New Orleans.

The reality is that TV Cable and Network New has so much invested in covering the convention it will be impossible for them to pull their coverage to cover a hurricane possibly wiping out New Orleans again.

It is a given that Fox New would never let a hurricane dominate the news cycle if it would minimalize what transpires in Tampa unless they can find a "Brownie" in the Obama administration

On the main question, I think a lot of the reaction to the convention will be at least partially determined by the audience reaction. I expect the speakers to be well-disciplined and to try to avoid any hints of racism. But the way the audience reacts to mention of Obama may be a different story.

I expect that there will be an army on the floor trying to control the signs that pop up. Our very own panty-sniffer is an example of what they may have to contend with.

The results are in and the Republican convention bounce was....(drum roll).....

NADA

CBS News just showed that Gallup had Romney up by one prior to convention and Obama up by one now. So, arguably, Romney had a negative bounce. However, I've seen other sources show Romney with a one-point gain. So, basically no discernable bounce.

Has that ever happened before??? I'm pretty sure that is an all-time low.
