In North Carolina, Crooks Corner restaurant in Chapel Hill is famous for its shrimp and grits. The link is to their version, which is fantastic. For some reason, a lot of restaurants in DC attempting to do shrimp & grits leave the shells on the shrimp---leaving you to try to either peel by hand (and get grits all over your finger) or attempt to peel using a knife and fork---with a strong likelihood that a projectile shrimp will fly across the table. With that said, the upscale affiliate restaurant to Ben's Chili Bowl on U Street used to serve a decent version at their brunch. |

| If you make them at home, you MUST get the right grits. I haven't seen stone ground grits here. Where do you get them. I know you can get them online. |
| You can get stone ground grits at Harris Teeter. Usually in paper bags and tied with twine or string. |
| I had them as an appetizer with a group at matchbox. We were practically licking the plate. Delish |
