| OP here. I started this thread back in August and since then I have been to the OB and asked about this. He did not seem too concerned, but he wrote me an order for a sonohysterogram and told me to hang onto it another month or two and then get it. Now it's been 2 months since then and I'm scheduled to have it on Monday. I forgot to ask him about progesterone levels and he didn't mention it, but I guess I will ask him next time. |
| Just wondering what the outcome was. I'm having the same issues. |
I am in my 20's- have always had a week of brown spotting before my periods. I got pregnant while on birth control with my first; we "tried" for my 2nd and got pregnant that 1st try- and then our "3rd" baby was a surprise- another birth control baby; and ended up being babIES! Twins! Fraternal; so my fertility is stellar. Spotting has NOTHING to do with it! Don't worry ladies. Don't trust advice online; this is not accurate information!
Hugs!! Fertile Fertile |

Doesn't that mean that this advice should be ignored then, as well?
Spotting can be normal for some, not for others. See your Dr if you continue to be concerned. |
| I had sex this whole month unprotected & now when I'm suppose to start my period I'm spotting with some pinkish brownish blood. I'm spotting what's that suppose to mean?? |
| Hi i m 36 i ve recently noticd brown dischargeefore my periods one day before.M nt sexually active.Wt cd tht b?? |
| I'm a 42 yr old African American and I started brown spotting in October and every period since then. I just started spotting yesterday and recently my periods have done a complete 360. In the past when I would go off my period as it slowly faded it would turn light brown, now I spot for a day, then nothing the next day, then maybe spot very little the next day and then by the 5th day would finally have a period, but no flow. The only time the blood was there was when I wiped myself. I still get all the period symptoms and I still come on my period on time like clockwork, but my period is so wacky. I had a baby at 39, and since I'm now 42 it's a possibility the spotting can be a sign of premenopausal. |
| It's normal. I've been getting this since I was 12. I'm in my 30s. Usually I get it just a few hours, then the regular period, but occasionally it's light brown for up to a couple of days. My health is very good, no issues |
| I know this is an old thread but here's my two cents in case someone else is looking. Go to a doctor. I'm 32 with the same problem. I went to the doctor and found out I have a slightly under-performing thyroid. By all accounts it's normal - 3.5. Upper end is 4 but they want it at 2.5 if you're trying to conceive. It's a VERY easy fix. You just take a little more of the hormone your body isn't producing. I'd say if this is happening to you go get a blood test! |
