That was a one-year anamoly. The DC cut-off was higher than Maryland's again in 2011 and 2012. This is unfair. A Maryland student who goes to a DC private has to get a higher score than a Maryland student who goes to a Maryland public or private. The cutoff score is based on where the student goes to school, not where they actually reside. I think when colleges look at geographic diversity they probably look at where a student actually lives, not where they go to school. I know they do for purposes of in-state tuition rates, but i am not sure about this for purposes of admission.

BTW the College Board is too embarrassed to release the different cut-off scores. Everyone would see the inequity. The lists we have are compiled from collecting the scores of actual winners.
