NYC activities for young kids who don't like the zoo or museums?

With kids that age, I'd just do whatever you want to do and not worry about hitting NYC tourist sites. We took our 2, 7, and 9 year olds for a week to NYC (I'm from there) and the best parts were just walking around, playing in Central Park, taking in the NYC vibe and energy, having fabulous food (including restaurants and quick places). We also walked them back and forth across the Brooklyn Bridge.

We did go to MOMA, the Met, and the Natural History museum but honestly those were the least-fun events because the museums are super-crowded. My older kids are really into art so the art museums were somewhat fun for them since they got to see those artists they've read all about, but it truly was wasted on the little one. She just enjoyed chasing pigeons.

Just went to NY this past weekend. We went to Toys R Us in Times Square for the first time. There is a huge ferris wheel in the middle of the store. The kids LOVED it!
