MDIPA and out-of-pocket and IVF

17:39 again--I thought the same thing, but for some reason, MDIPA counts certain procedures (like ultrasounds) towards the out of pocket max. (At least they did for mine) You should be able to check all this out on your account on myuhc.com

Thank you so much, PP, I really appreciate the detailed information. I will look into this. It would be nice to get some money back, even though I did get pregnant and therefore felt whatever we paid was worth it...

23:33 here: OP, I'm MD IPA federal as well. The explanation of benefits for MD IPA states that IVF is not included. However, since SG is required to bill separately for each procedure, as stated by PP, some of the IVF fees count towards the 1800 and others (such as retrieval and transfer) do not. All in all, I paid @ 2300 for the procedure although I had to leave an initial 3200 deposit.
