Has anyone's DC ever been allergic to yogurt but not cheese or milk?

Make your own yogurt with organic milk.

Commercial yogurt may have ingredients in it that you are allergic to.

Fascinating to me that you can become allergic to something you had eaten for years or even daily! I had no idea the more you eat something the more likely you are to become allergic! That's pretty wild. Aren't they doing things though with kids who are peanut allergic-like if they pass a good challenge making them eat peanuts every day so as not to get it again?

Here is an article on this subject. Shellfish allergy is more commonly adult onset than childhood onset.

I understand what you are going through. I found out in college that I am allergic to yogurt. I eat all type of dairy products but I break out in hives on my face and itch on my arms. I now have to read all the labels because of yogurt being added to everything. Many protein bars, cereals, butter mixtures and dips have yogurt of some sort in them. I am always asking at restaurants, picnics and such to make sure there is not yogurt in what I eat. I feel like wearing a sign. Yogurt is so good tasting but not for me. Thank you for mentioning some of the cheese. I will start checking them out.

A lot of yogurt has gelatin in it. There are people who are allergic to gelatin, but not dairy or eggs, etc.

Flavored yogurt is junk food. No point in giving it to your kid anyway. It's just sugar.

Google Candida. It's a yeast overgrowth in the gut. We had this and a change of diet helps.

Have you tried plain, full-fat organic Greek yogurt? Just milk and probiotics.

Plain yogurt is fantastic for candida..

If a dairy allergy exists, milk is typically far more allergenic than yogurt.

I at yogurt for my first time in graduate school. I ended up in the ER unable to breath and my throat was swollen. The ER doc said....it's the yogurt. I am also allergic to penicillin. I have had yogurt a few times since when unknown to me and always the same reaction. I can drink milk and other dairy. I think this is common for some people.

I am 20 now and Iv had a yogurt allergy for years now. I believe it started in 6th grade. I used to be able to eat it but now, every time i try, i get really sick to my stomach and really dizzy and weak. Iv tried different brands of yougurt and different form (frozen yogurt) and most give me the same reaction. Some drinkable yogurts (like danamals) are actually fine for me. I drink milk, eat cheese, and eat icecream all the time with no negative effects. I have no idea what causes this but i do know for certain its yogurt that is the problem. Id like to find out why but im sure an allergist would think im bonkers. Can anyone here maybe tell me what it is that i could be allergic to in the yogurt?
