would you fly with a 7 week old in August?

My first? Probably not. But I do plan to take my second on an hour long flight when he is about 6 weeks old at the end of September. Keep them close and be careful about hand washing, etc like you normally would. They can get sick anywhere - go to the beach house/vacation and have fun!!

I did it when my DD was 7 weeks. It was October. It's actually the easiest time to fly with them because they just sleep.

You can actually get the shots as early as 6
weeks. I would do that and go! I would try
For that as pertussis is going around many states right
Now.

I did an August trip with a 4-week-old baby--no problems. I kept her in the Moby for the majority of the trip (except when nursing), so it wasn't like there were lots of strangers breathing on her.

Would and did but it was only an hour flight. My Ped didn't express any concerns about it and he slept both ways...easy breezy!

We flew to Chicago for a wedding with 9 week old twins. No problems. It was probably one of our easiest travel experiences since they were born. Go and enjoy!

I flew to CA on my own with my 5-week old to spend half of my maternity leave on the West Coast. Flew the first week of August. I can't remember how the pediatrician accommodated various immunizations (e.g., whether we did them early or late), but we worked around it. And everything went fine. Much easier if you have certain things on the other end (e.g., a car seat base, a pack-n-play), because the gear is the major hassle ... my infant flew just fine, both out and back (5 weeks later). I was tired, but I just pretty much was tired with a newborn, no matter what.

Nope. Each time we traveled by plane our kids got respiratory infections. Youngest was six months when we first flew with him and he got sick. Not worth it.

We took our DS to Italy at 9 months and it was one of the best trips of our lives. To each her own, I guess, but I think laughing in someone's face is probably inappropriate.

Same here, except DS was 9 weeks when I flew to the west coast with him for a full month of my maternity leave. OP, go! Seriously!
