Dude, did you read my post? I said this is the 2nd time that I am doing this, as we have already adopted once. BTDT. It was just a temporary vent. Signed, adoptive mother/OP |
Or, your child develops a chronic medical condition, which requires your constant attention, or he or she has ADHD and is always a challenge. Or both! Compared to paperwork, what is the problem you are having? |
OP back. Sigh. My 1st child does have a chronic medical condition which requires my medical attn, so I am no stranger to this issue. As I mentioned above, my first post was just a temporary vent about the paperwork (which yes, I am trying to squeeze in in between caring for my first child and working as well). Sigh. Back to the trenches, OPADoptiveMom |
| OP, I get it -- you were just looking for a little sympathy and venting in a light-hearted way (BTW, thanks for the Calgon reference -- makes me feel less dated). My compliments on your coping skills -- which are, needless to say, invaluable in parenting. Signed -- mom of 4 -- 3 by birth and one by adoption, so, yeah, I've been there and done that, and, of course, it's worth it. We feel like we won the lottery with all our kids! Best of luck to you, OP! |
LOL! Yeah, I am old, for sure! Definitely remember the old Calgon ads!
Thanks for the empathy and have fun with your four!!!
|
| And I do wonder whether you would have gotten the same scolding responses if you had posted "I'm 6 months pregnant and tired of feeling fat." Anyway, hang in there and remember that good things do come to those who wait! |
I agree. There's a definite bias against adoption and at the very least, most of the population can't understand what adoptive parents go through so they are just less knowledgeable. |
Thank you so much!! You are right about that! |

I'm the Survivor poster and I got the Calgon reference.
And I hope the process gets more bearable soon! |
| Been through it myself - hang in there - it is worth it!! |
