"I obviously wish he hadn't been involved in these campaign shenanigans."
"Campaign shenanigans"?! Yeah, I kinda' wish Nixon hadn't been involved in that little third rate burglary distraction called Watergate. |
NP. You are delusional my dear child. Fenty was not a great mayor. Heck, he wasn't even a good mayor. |
And then we get good ole Phil. He thinks he is the smartest person in the room. He is a micro-manager, so if you want to see things so down, oh boy here we come. But, at least he has not been involved in any scandals. |
Nah, it's Mary Cheh who thinks she's the smartest person in the room (though Prof. Cheh gets kind of snippy when her constituents go all "Socratic" on her -- she doesn't like to be questioned or challenged). Phil is the self-described most nit-pickedty guy in the room. And honest, to a fault. That's what DC needs now. |
I'm the OP and I voted for Gray. I was happy to see Rhee and Fenty go and still feel that way, especially now that we are understanding the full extent of Rhee's shitty management. Gray had an opportunity to get DCPS back on track by hiring a decent chancellor from a national search, which he didn't do. He really hasn't done anything for DCPS since taking office.
He didn't need to have a shadow campaign to win. He blew it and there is a possibility he'll be indicted and I hope he steps down. Mendelson has a kid in DCPS and will be more responsive to DCPS issues, (I hope). |
I know, OP, I wish he had hired someone new but don't you think he was under a lot of pressure to keep Henderson on because of all the folks who worshipped Rhee? I can see now that we would have been better off with someone new but I can understand why Gray might have thought that Henderson's retention would have mollified some Fenty supporters. |
Catania and Cheh call on Gray to resign: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/07/11/catania-cheh-gray-resign_n_1666461.html |
Get DCPS back on track because before Rhee DCPS was better than Arlington. |
Nixon wasn't involved in the burglary. He got nailed for the cover up. Gray may have learned from the example. |
That our city lost Fenty to this shiester all to have it come crashing down around him...The election was so, so bitter. This is a huge betrayal. He should absolutely resign. What a waste! cCn I have the last 2 years of my son's slipshod special education back too? No? oh well. |
I find it hard to believe anyone uses the words good, better or even OK when talking about DCPS. The very worst MoCo public school is much, much better than the very best DCPS. |
Not a chance he resigns, whether he should or not. If guilty, it would be a sign of guilt. If not guilty, why resign? |
When the se natives fully back a candidate, you get barry results. Next time do the opposite of whatever se natives do . |
Apparently Gray didn't learn. Washington Post: "Mayor Vincent C. Gray knew of campaign finance violations in January, sources say" http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/dc-politics/mayor-gray-this-is-not-the-campaign-we-intended-to-run/2012/07/11/gJQASDL6cW_story.html?hpid=z1 |
Better yet, why not institute a nice high poll tax so only we richer, well-educated, folks who know what's best for everyone can vote? [I hope the irony is obvious -- I would not mention it, but I fear it's not much worse than some things said seriously.] |
