Just moved from Howard County to VA and very very confused about the AAP programs.

Check around the private school websites where they post a list of psychologists they use for testing. Then pick names from there.

Here are a few private schools' links with testing information.

Transportation to a Center is provided by FCPS.

OP here..relieved to hear about transportation.

As I go through the screening package that I am required to submit I noticed something called the GBRS. I am wondering whom I would need to request to fill that out? Can it be any one of her teachers at her old school? For instance her Library teacher or does it have to be her GT teacher? I ask since I am not sure her GT teacher will be reachable during the summer months.

I truly appreciate all your help and am relying heavily on your advice. Thank you!

Also it looks like I will have to collect the GBRS from her teacher and submit it?

I wouldn't stress about the gbrs. We transferred into the district last summer this time and our previous teacher did not get it in time because it was vacation. It wasn't a problem.

.

In our case the closest bus stop was the base school. It was easier/quicker to just do kiss and ride. Since we came late summer the bus schedule was already set.

I would call the Advanced Academic Programs office and ask.
