| New poster here with almost identical issue. 3yo son with articulation issues. The city tested him and he fell right above the "average" line so wont provide services. I'd likevtonhave a private articulation assessment done..but not the 2day, 1100 dollar lab school version. Any leads woul be greatly appreciated! |
First check with your health insurance to see how much you will be reimbursed. Lab is very thorough but I understand the sticker shock. University of Maryland and George Mason University both do lower cost Speech/Language Testing. (However, when my DC was older ~age 6 we went back to UMD, and I was not impressed with the quality of the testing. We ended up re-doing is at Lab. sigh.) |
Greetings OP, There is no consensus on the amount of an assessment in MOCO or any area for that matter. It will vary and range from the very high to the very low depending on the discretion of the party conducting it unfortunately. However, I am a speech-language pathologist in MOCO with a private practice who can assess your child between the fees of $250 -350.00. This includes a comprehensive evaluation (speech and language) and a school/preschool/natural environment observation. This also comes with a comprehensive report and full recommendation/goals. I can also offer you SLP services if your child is deemed a candidate for therapy and you are interested in going the route of private services. I am able to negotiate the day, time, and locations to fit your schedule. Contact me for more information at: slpizmyluv@hotmail.com |
