Was "indivisible" added with "under God" as well? I'm 40, and all I remember is "One nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

"Under God" was added in 1954. "Indivisible" was always there. What's really ironic and sad is that they added "under God" right next to "indivisible," when which god people worship, or whether they worship one at all, is one of the best ways of dividing a society.

Thanks for the correction. I was the one who made the comment about remembering the addition of "under God", and being old enough to remember it, I am also old enough to have a senior moment like forgetting indivisible. Our country seems so divided these days that it's hard to imagine it being called indivisible.

Liberal loons with your sort of anti-God values make me want to vomit. You are a pathetic excuse for an American. Don't even call yourself American. It pains me. It's an embarassment.

We are stil tackling "ona nation under god"...maybe some day.

Maybe someday you will move to a place that has values more akin to yours, like China or the U.S.S.R.

Yes, please move to the U.S.S.R. Then, let me borrow your time machine so I can go back and see that the previous poster receives a better education.

I was not aware that Doc Brown had perfected his flux capacitor yet - good to know. How much did the Delorean set you back? And can I give you $1000 to invest in Starbucks?

Thanks for exactly proving my point, that religion divides. Are you actually insinuating that I can't call myself an American because I don't believe in any gods? The author of the pledge was a Baptist minister and even he didn't think we needed any god stuff in a promise of loyalty to our country.

Can't wait for what SCOTUS, with their "hatred of judicial activism" and the insertion of big government into the bedroom will say.
At least we don't have to worry about Justice Thomas, he won't say anything during questioning- We already know his vote has been bought and paid for. Me thinks he steals Scalia's law clerks notes or has his wife author his opinions

Maybe you should eat some saltines and then go find a country that does not have freedom of religion. The Vatican should work for you. It's great over there.

Yo are the embarassment. You want to live in a country without freedom of religion, why don't you pack your bags and move to Afghanistan. You can have all the God you want. Sheesh, you don't even no the meaning of being an American.
