| Every weekday. I'm 46. |
| Yes, I have to wear one because of my job. |
Same here. Critical piece of equipment for a nurse---often more important than my stethoscope. |
Me too, same reason! But I do often wonder how ridiculous it must look for me to have my wrist inches from my eyeball trying to figure out the time. |
| Yes. I could probably go without one on weekends (and I often don't put it on until I am ready to head out of the house), but I need it at work. I am in a lot of meetings (people at this company looooove meetings), and there is not always a clock on the wall, nor is it always appropriate to check your cell phone/blackberry. It's much less conspicuous to glance at a watch than to check your smart device. |
| I wear one most days and feel naked when I forget it... however, I use started wearing one last year when I received a nice one as a gift. It took a few weeks to get used to and now I love being able to check the time without getting my phone out, like PP said. FWIW, I'm 29. |
| Another who feels naked without a watch. Normally, I will have a watch on except when in the shower, but occasionally I will forget to put it back on after the shower. It will drive me nuts the entire day. While I understand that you can get the time on the cell phone (mine is even nice with the time on the outside display), but I hate having to fish for the phone in my pocket. Also, I regularly need the time when my hands are full. With a watch, I can just turn the wrist and look. With hands full, I can't pull the phone out. Although there are significantly fewer of the younger generation that wear watches, I know some that do. Most are in activities where they need it (like my cross-country runner nephew who likes to have the watch on while he runs). |
| everyday since I was 18 (possibly younger??). I'm 34. During college I wore a Timex (I was a runner), since then I've worn the same $100 Bulova. |
Me too, I have had a bunch of cheapy ones and never wore one for more than 2 weeks until I received a nice one for my birthday last year. I now wear it every day and definitely feel like I'm missing something when I don't wear it. I'm 27. |
Another one who feels naked without it, hates fishing for a phone to tell the time, and feels like its rude when someone is looking for a phone to check the time. We all need to keep track of time with schedules, but somehow grabbing for a phone feels more like an automatic checking for texts or email than just checking time, which is more ok. |
Ditto. I'm 32. My eight year old and husband also wear one everyday. I have a few that I cycle through based on my attire. |
|
add another for yes. i wear one and feel lost when i forget it. i only own one that my husband got for me and its really dainty and looks more like a bracelet. for the longest, i wore it as such but turns out i really do use it to tell time. i thought i'd lost it recently and freaked out and bought a similar one. while out on maternity leave, i found it in a pair of pants i'd worn to work the last time i worked out.
i'm 39 btw. |

never'
i'm 30 and mother of 2 i wore one for work for 5 years and hated every minute of it. |
| I'm 30, and wear a watch every day. It's so much easier for me to be able to just glance down at my wrist, and helps me feel less dependent on the stupid cell phone. |
| OP here. Good to see I'm not alone in feeling lost without my watch. I just ordered a cheap one on Amazon in case I change my mind or, more likely, lose the new one. |
