Local Level IV Quandry

We switched from Local Level IV to the Center. The Center is so very different than Local Level IV. In 3rd grade at our Local Level IV school, DC was the proverbial Big Fish in the little pond. He knew all the answers and faster than the rest of his classmates. And because he knew all the answers, he was downright cocky.
Fast forward to 4th grade at the Center, and DC was no longer the Big Fish because there were a lot of other hands up with the right answers, and faster than him, too. He definitely got a strong message that it wasn't all about him as superstar, and there were many other equally (and more) smart people in his classroom. It dropped his cocky attitude a peg or two. He's now in 6th grade at the Center and has lots of friends. He's looking forward to middle school, too. |
