Looking for neighborhood with tons of kids in MoCo

Plus, the mix of kids attending private vs. public seems to be about 50/50 (although it might be different for the older kids), so it's not like everyone in the neighborhood is connected through the same school.

I also live in Woodmoor and agree with this, although the ages of kids tends to vary by street. For example, on our street, most of the kids are on the younger side (2-7).

Hillmeade in Bethesda would fit your bill, though you may be paying more for schools ( Whitman cluster) you don't need.

Woodside Park & Woodside Forest are good candidates, but it varies by block.

The kid-demographic skews older than Woodmoor.

We're right by downtown SS and have tons of kids on our street. I would say They are mostly under 8 though. But there are 5 kids over 12 that I know of.

You could get a really nice house for that budget too. I don't know anyone who uses private in our neighborhood though. You might want to consider great public schools at all ages even if you're not using them since that seems to attract and keep families.

Thanks, yes. I don't want to move to a place where families leave when their kids reach middle school or HS age.

Re: Takoma Park areas, search 20912. That gets you charming streets with lots of kids, and is generally walkable to the Main Street (i.e. Carroll Ave) and Metro, shops, farmer's market, restaurants, schools, rec center.
