gyms in NOVA with childcare

There's also Jungle's Gym. They don't require a contract. I think you can can get a membership anywhere from one day, one week, one month, etc. I'm sure the longer your commitment, the cheaper it is.

I'd still recommend Golds Gym, even with a contract. I quit for a couple years and they stopped billing right away, and rejoined for a good rate and billing was always correct. I've been a member for many years and the *only* time I've ever had a problem was when my debit card # was switched by my bank and my auto-debit monthly fees didn't go through. They charged me a $20 fee, but were really nice about it. The guys at one branch even replaced my swipe card for free - twice - once when I lost it, another time when the card split due to wear-and-tear. Normally you pay $10 for that.

Have had a lot more problems with Washington Sports Club and their billing (including having them turn me over to a collections agency for THEIR error - which they denied doing), plus have gotten charged for fees that weren't disclosed, so I wouldn't recommend them as highly as Golds.

Note on Golds: some of the gyms are separately owned and not on their local network, so you have to get a separate membership for them, vs. being able to go to a whole bunch of golds in the area for the same price. Rockville Town Center, Alexandria, Sterling... are some of those.

Lifetime doesn't require a contract and it's $6/month/child. I've been to a lt of gyms and it has the nicest childcare center I've seen.

I just toured Lifetime and am going to X Sport this afternoon.
Neither require a "contract" you may an initiation and then you pay month to month.
Lifetime was $69/month plus $6 a month for each child for childcare or $1 a visit.
I am going to check out X sport as it is $40/month with $10/month childcare. Sounds good to me. Both have full spa's as well

I toured both of these as well before joining a gym last summer (LTF in Vienna and X Sport in Merrifield). There was no competition for me. LTF's childcare facility is so much nicer; A lot more room to play and run, windows, computers, and sometimes they open the gym next door so the kids can shoot hoops, jump in the moonbounce, etc. I thought that the X Sport childcare room looked depressing; it was dark and way too small.
