Anyone buy a house while 1st time pregnant? Trying to anticipate the new life is hard!

Bought at 7 mos pregnant with #1. All great suggestions above. I'd only add, if possible buy a house with a usable garage - one you can actually park in. We bought a 50's rambler with the tiniest most unusable garage. It's a pain to deal with heating up the car in cold weather before putting the baby in, or lugging the infant carrier / rushing your toddler through the rain.
Oh, and storage space. If you plan to have more kids you'll find yourself hanging onto baby gear, toys, clothes, etc. that takes up a ton. |

| Agree with the above, and I would add that even more than the garage I'd like a finished basement. We have a separate family room so we have space for toys, but I'd love an area I could devote fully to them/confine them in. Perhaps more than though I have to echo the open floor plan. I can't see anything but kitchen from the kitchen and that is hard with a older infant/toddler. |
