Highlander/Pilot vs. Van

Anonymous
Love the Pilot with two kids. Got it for the reason identified, wanted to have the ability to all take one car when family visited. If we were using the third row for seating everyday and one of the seats in that row was a carseat (as opposed to a booster that a child can get into his/herself), I would seriously consider the Van or the Acadia for its captains' chair set up, but for two kids and the occasional carpool buddy and visiting family the Pilot three rows are great. My 7 year old and her friends are in boosters, so they often want to be in the third row and they can hop on back themselves.

I do not think the Acadia is less expensive than the Pilot, maybe the Traverse is. SIL has an Acadia, it has a lot of options and is a very nice car.

We also can get three carseats across the second row, so that is an option if you prefer that.

Finally, the Pilot has three sets of latch in the second row, so you can install three seats with latch unlike many other cars. I do not know about the Van, we do not have one.
