I think if you're super hot and look young for your age, you can pull it off. A gorgeous friend of mine who is 42 (!!!) manages to look great like that. It suits her somehow. Another 40-something friend who I think looks a bit older than 40 tries to do it and fails, not that I'd ever tell her. It makes her look like she's trying too hard to look young. I'm guessing my hot friend is the exception, not the rule.

I'd never do it unless it was Halloween and I was dressing as a Catholic schoolgirl. (or if I was in bed dressing like a Catholic schoolgirl, lol.)

(PP here- I would never judge someone for the hairstyle they wore to workout. sometimes you just do what works for your activity at the time.)

I can tell you what I do with mine - I have 6 colors and sparkly tinsel. Oh, and a feather.

I dont look good with a stark-pulled-back-tight hair, and feel that I look better in 2 low ponytails than if i pull it back into one ponytail on the back of my head. The ponies frame my face a bit the way hair normally does when not pulled back.

Also, my husband finds it hot because it feeds his schoolgirl fantasies.

I work from home part time/stay home with my son. I wear any number of horrible "ugly" shoes, Keens, Danskos, Crocs, combat boots. I don't shave my legs or pits very often. I don't wear make-up. Most of my clothes are probably not very flattering according to DCUM standards. Sometimes I have a drink in the middle of the afternoon. I could keep going, but I won't

I think it's a bit strange, but I also don't really care what others do. If they want to wear pigtails, more power to them.
