We also used Chuck at Inex for an extensive kitchen, basement and bathroom remodel, and he is phenomenal. Totally trustworthy, his team is always on-time and does what they say they'll do, and he finished a huge job for us on budget and a week ahead of schedule. He's a straight-shooter - will not try to upsell you on things, and is very particular to make sure everything goes according to plan. We've referred others to him, and everyone has been pleased.

I am an avid reader or European (particularly French) decoration / renovation magazines. It is interesting that even the high-end European magazines take IKEA kitchen cabinets (and many other IKEA products) seriously and without any hint of snobbery. It is also interesting that in the US IKEA products are seen as only for people in a tight budget -- like, something needs to "look expensive" to be taken seriously.

it seems like everytime I watch House Hunters International, there is at LEAST one IKEA kitchen

Yes, if you're a fan of modern kitchen options, IKEA offers a very credible product for far less than many extremely expensive European brands.

In Europe, though, there seem to be other not-so-expensive stylish options in the general IKEA league and price range.
