It depends.
Does the party run from 4pm-6pm? If so, I'd go with pizza about halfway through the party (unless it is a bounce place - trust me, do not do food until near the end). If the party is 4pm to 5pm only, I think cake is fine. |

I always expect pizza at any time of day. If you don't provide pizza, I will expect you chose that time because you're cheap and didn't want to serve a meal. |
We did cupcakes, pizza and snacks for a mid afternoon party (1:30-4pm, pizza were offered at 3pm which I mentioned on evite ). I remembered one bday party I didn’t offer pizza and kids we invited were disappointed. |
Adults don't need to eat between 2-3:30. Having drinks is totally fine. |
Pizza and cake. Always. |
I don’t care what you serve as long as you clear about it on the invite. If it’s just cake and juice, I’ll serve my kid a later hearty lunch that day. If it’s heavy food, I’ll have them eat an early light lunch.
Just give the info and we can handle it for our own kid. |
I serve real food at any
Party, taco bar/chicken/pasta/brunch/vegetables and pizza. |
And from your post, I expect that you are overweight. |
The rule is, no matter the time of the party, the size of the party and location of the party, you order a damn pizza and cake. |
You have to serve dinner at a party that late. |
For an afternoon party beginning at 2, I ordered a chicken finger tray, chips, fruit and cheese platter also cake.
