You misunderstood the statement. You could juice a pound of greens and get a cup of juice that is totally loaded with awesome nutrients, but you could not easily eat the equivalent amount of greens. Does that make sense? |
New poster here. I think that other poster is an idiot. I'm a Vitamix person myself, but what would worry me the most is juicing a pound of spinach that is not organic. The high concentration of non-organic veggies would concern me. I'm sure this is not an issue if you can afford to literally buy 15-20lbs of organic fruits and veggies each week just for juicing. With the vitamin, I do use organic, but since I keep the fiber, I use a lot less ingredients to get a filling volume of product. |

And you have no sense of humor. But even so, the fact that you are "worried about juicing a pound of spinach that is not organic" makes clear that I am not the idiot on this thread.
Anyway, it does not make sense to eat an overload of vitamins in one juice setting. You can only absorb so much in the way of vitamins and good stuff, and pee out the rest. Better to break it down into a few meals over the course of the day and eat the fiber too. |
| I use whole fruits and veggies in my blender. I drink it all day long as a supplement to my other meals. Today I am having 2 cups mixed vreens, a cup of spinach, wheat grass, half a banana, frozen cherries and I mixed in organic pear and apricot baby food I bought at giant last night for .69. Yummy and fills me up! I add some water and some green tea and it gives 32 oz which I split into 2 large blender bottles. I have one in am and one in pm. I eat 3 regular but smaller healthy meals. |
I agree! Also, I've found that I'm even less fatigued when I complete the chewing process with some dark chocolate!

I watched FS&ND and I see the beauty of juicing for the people in that movie -- they juiced 23/7 and replaced their entire diet with juice. Point taken. They lost weight and got healthy.
But the women on this board are adding a juice to their diet. That's not "juicing." That's adding juice to your diet. What is the benefit of that over eating fruits and vegetables? It seems to me arguably, none. |
Who said it is hard to eat? I'm confused-are there posters on here with problems eating? Each morning, I blend up 3 cups of kale, half apple, slice of lemon, and 1/4 of an avocado. I put it in a large cup and drink it on my way to work. It is called "fast food", everyone likes fast food....especially those of us who work and have to get small kids out the door in the morning. |
| Juicing isn't all that healthy because you're removing the fibers. I also blend whole foods. My kids drink one green smoothie a day and have since they were two |
