I switched to this one (the brown lid) about 3 years ago and I love it.

How are you allowed to bring peanut products to school?

We like the WF 365 brand also.

We don't go to a peanut free school.

We use Trader Joe's Valencia Peanut Butter. It's just peanuts and salt, but somehow it has great (sweet?) flavor and is very spreadable.

I like the Nature's Promise smooth organic peanut butter, also just nuts and salt (though they have a salt-free version too). I think it spreads very well and has a good consistency--but I agree about refrigerating it.

We don't have a nut free school (which I don't understand) but out of respect for the kids who have allergies, we choose not to send it as they can eat it at home and plenty of other alternatives that may not put another person at risk.

I disagree that the Smart Balance tastes like fish (fish? What?). But whatever.

my kids really like the whole food stuff that you grind in the store. it doesnt seperate and has nothing i it except for ground peanuts. that being said, we sometimes use the little individual containers of jif when they want to take crackers and spread it themselves.

He makes the kids' school lunches every day. He wants to use a name brand like Jif. He says "yeah i know it's got sugar as its second ingredient, but it is more durable when making sandwhiches/peanut butter crackers/celery sticks". I insist he use Crazy Richards, which is peanuts and oil ONLY. He says it pours like water, even after you stir it and he refuses to use it and the kids don't eat it, so why bother.

Anyone have a suggestion for a happy medium?

try costco organic

We just switched to this brand, based on DCUM recommendations. It literally only has nuts and oil in it. It must be refrigerated. While my son did notice a different taste and said it was nasty, he still eats it in his sandwiches. I think he is used to it now. It's just not as sweet as other brands.

We've started using the Natural Jif pb. It still had sugar, but only 3g for two tblsp serving.

We love Crazy Richards too. Make sure to stir well before first use and keep it in the fridge...
