Rockville has a track and field program for young kids, but it's limited to kids who live or attend school in Rockville limits. There's a fall cross-country program that's not limited, also run by Rockville. I don't know why there isn't a similar league for all of MoCo

Baseball at 5, t-ball actually, is painfully slow. Most kids developmentally can't catch and some have trouble hitting off a tee. So your child will be stand around for 30 minutes waiting to hit the ball which might take him 15 seconds, then wait in the field or on the bench for another 30 minutes.
