Which is why it is all the more surprising, or dismaying, that most schools offer lousy food compared to Sidwell's or no lunch at all. |
Are lunches included in the tuition in DC or is it an extra fee. In the Baltimore area private schools the tuition for K is $20000+ not including lunch which is an extra $5 per day with the exception of McDonogh that includes lunch with their $21000 tuition. |
Lunch is included in the Sidwell tuition. |
Lunch is included in the Maret, St. Albans, NCS, and Landon tuition. I don't know about some of the other schools, but I know GDS and Edmund Burke don't serve lunch and don't even have cafeterias. |
It is included at Beauvoir. I've eaten the food and think it's great.

The food at BEAUVOIR is great? Please. Only if you like bad chicken nuggets and cheese sandwiches. |
I am a Beauvoir parent not sure what lunch parents are referring to. Children have a full salad and sandwich bar as well as other choices. Yes they serve pasta everyday with sauce but there are plenty of other options. The students even have a stop light system that is utilized to assist with lunch decision making. For those with questions about the lunch review the menu it is available on their website. I'm glad that WES has hot lunches, and DC does like them. But they seem nutritionally questionable to me -- nevermind organic and grass-fed beef and all that. Definitely room there for improvement.
