By the way, in case it matters to anyone, 8:25 is me -- Takoma. I have just gotten tired of trying to remember to sign on all the time, and have been posting as Anonymous.

I'm amazed that anyone can stand up in public -- and be cheered -- for such ignorance. The God of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob was named Jesus Christ?? Does he not know the difference between the Old and New Testaments? Does he not know enough about other religions to realize that people do not think Mohammed and Buddha were gods? Does he not know that "Allah" is Arabic for "The One God", the God of Abraham, whom they call Ibrahim? And does he not know that everyone IS free to pray in public space, in churches and even stadiums, or sitting silently in their classrooms for that matter?

I suppose his ignorance of religion is none of my business, but when he shreds the First Amendment and calls for the installation of Christ as God of our Nation, and a candidate for President stands before him and acquiesces, I think this goes beyond Barack Obama continuing (for a while) to be a member of a Church whose pastor has some questionable political views. This is about Santorum's understanding of the establishment clause of our Bill of Rights.

Agreed. the video made me think of fascism. "We're number one. We're the real People. If you are not one of US, you are not welcome here. WE believe in Jesus Christ". So a Jewish American is not a real American? A taxpaying, born and bred American who finds say, Buddism as an adult is not a real American? Lashing out at homosexuals..... reminds me of Hitler. Nazis also took a special interest in reproduction - making sure that good German girls had lots of little German babies.

"In Nazi Germany, the penalties for abortion were increased again. From 1943, the provision of abortion to "Aryan" women was threatened with the death penalty.[1][2] On the other hand, abortion was at times forced upon members of parts of society that were considered undesirable." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abortion_in_Germany

I think we owe OP an apology for drifting way off the question. Or perhaps by doing so, we are illustrating one important point about our political system, which is that much of our political dialog is not really relevant to the issues.
