Declined Vienna Baptist Children's Center.
FWIW, we made it through the initial lottery but had a bad experience with the director for daring to ask additional questions about the program. Of all the schools we visited, she was the only director to become defensive or hostile about my questions. I had bad vibes about her during my initial visit - she seemed abrasive at best and a bit rude / arrogant at worst - but I thought it might be just an off-day. I saw a child give her a hug during our group tour so I thought I'd give her the benefit of doubt.
I heard wonderful things from other people and on this board about the teachers and program there, so this is a real shame. Another parent told me that she's only been director for the past 2 years, that the prior director was wonderful, and that the church would be horrified to hear her say the things she said to me (namely, that it's not a christian preschool and that if we want a christian preschool, that she'd direct me somewhere else - for starters, I don't see the point of claiming 'religious exempt' in lieu of a state childcare license if it's not a religious facility).
But I don't want the added stress of dealing with the current director if a problem arises. It's just not worth it. Really glad we registered our little one at another school while waiting for the VBCC lottery. Hope my lengthy input helps someone.
