I'm a PP here and just wanted to mention that dinner at Citronelle can be as pricey as the Inn. I think it's because the wine list is more expensive.
I don't like Citronelle that much. I can't stand the stuffy service. Otherwise, though, I wanted to add Marcel's to the list of PP's alternative restaurants. I think the food is nearly comparable to the Inn's. I love the service and I think you can request one of the tables in the corners that have curtains around them. I ate at them twice now, and it's pretty fun. |

We really loved the Inn and thought it was great. I second the cheese course, which they wheel over on this giant ceramic cow. There were something like 14 different cheeses, all served with honey or nuts or something delicious on the side. Even the bar nuts at the Inn are delicious!!!!!!
We got a gift certificate for our wedding so we went and I'm glad we did. Funny, the group all give those certificates for when someone gets married and it used to be enough for a night at the inn and dinner, but now it's only enough for dinner.
We stayed at the Foster Harris house which was also a nice experience--they have great cookies in the room and really romantic bedrooms and bathrooms. We went in early Oct and the weather was just pure Virginia beautiful that time of year. |
