To the previous two posters -- thanks for the detailed responses.

One more question about All Saints, and St. John's too -- are the congregations very large? Do people know each other and does the priest know the congregants?

St. John's is a smaller church (physical building) than All Saints. People do know each other. It feels like community, not anonymous. By the same token, it's not so tiny that you know everyone.
