I didn't either.

Why do democrats hate meritocracy?

They like Obama. He is the American dream. The republican hate meritocracy. Look at their presidential candidates.

Mitt Romney will never, ever, apologize for America! Instead, he will sing for America!

Why do Republicans fear America's recovery?

No way we can do that! Let's admit our defeat now!

In the second half of what exactly? The Cold War?

That tagline is just dumb.

Its a superbowl ad, the football reference made the commercial work when it was show (during halftime no less). I was actually entralled by it until the when I saw the Chrysler brands.

Yes, Romney should just get the nomination because he has waited for so long! It's his turn! And he shouldn't have to lobby corporations on his side to make commercials that indirectly support him...oh wait....

Hmmm....if some corporations want to spend money directly attacking Romney's opponents (and thus indirectly supporting him), that's meritocracy? And if other corporations want to spend money indirectly supporting Obama (and thus indirectly dissing his opponents), that's not meritocracy?????

I'm confused -- if corporations are people and deserve the right to put their money where their "mouths" are, uh, are you saying that the car companies aren't "people"?

Buzzzzzz! Logic fail!

It was the first commercial after the game broke for halftime, so it made sense during the Superbowl.

I still don't see why it does not make as much sense, especially given that Eastwood is a Republican, to assume that the implication is that when you are in trouble at halftime you change your game-plan. That's how I took it, at least, and it still looks like it could end "I'm Mitt Romney and I approve this ad."

I guess OPs concerns have gone away now that Eastwoodcis stumping for Romney.

I love the ad. "Imported from Detroit."

I remember when Detroit was thriving and USA had steel mills and furniture factories. It's not about Romney or Obama.

Wood is sent from the USA to China to furniture factories. This company used to make solid wood furniture.

Real people live outside the Beltway . I have relatives who lost manufacturing jobs to Asia.
