I have no patience to play this stupid game.
I've been "fighting" my thyroid for freaking 15 years and will never win. My last shot has been giving up wheat and lactose. LIFE SUCKS right now and assholes like you don't make it any better. You don't want to rub your bony legs against me, stand up yourself. Life is miserable enough already. Please be kind.

Oh, this made me laugh!! Damn that iphone autocorrect. |
| Fat people should be forced to ride on the roof |
not you again... |
I hope that someday rude, selfish, assholes, such aer thes yourself, will be banned from society altogether and confined in places fashioned after the old leper colonies. There you and all the other ill-mannered, cruel, thoughtless, mean people might learn a little humanity. I am not overweight but my sister is and she is talented, lovely, well-mannered, thoughtful and well loved by all who know her. |
such as yourself. Mistakes and I don't give a damn. |
|
PP, you have my understanding.
Hypothyroidism is managed by medication, not cured or controlled. It is just one part of a genetic metabolic disorder that I have, which requires me to work a thousand times harder than normal people just to maintain my (30 pounds over acceptable) weight. Have some compassion, people.

I'm not the anti-fat person poster, but can I just point out from a logic POV, this doesn't make any sense. |

Dear Madam,
As someone who is currently approximately 40 pounds overweight, who you would think would have sympathy for you, I am unsure of why your hyperthyroidism prevents you from standing up on public transport, rather than trying to squeeze into inappropriately tiny spaces. Please consider that your aversion to standing may be more important in your weight loss challenge than you currently believe. Thank you |
No offense but that's what I was thinking! The original rant wasn't "hey, people who are fat irritate me." It was "hey, people who are fat don't need to crowd me on the metro and take up MY space." It doesn't matter WHY you're overweight. That doesn't make it any easier when you've got someone practically sitting on your lap on the damn train. Oh, it's your thyroid? I DON'T CARE. Get off my lap. |
|
C'mon people now~ Smile on your brother! Everybody get together, try to love one another, right now! Right Now!

Dear fellow Thyroid Sufferers,
The average weight gain that is attributed to hypothyroidism is 15 lbs. It does make it challenging to lose excess weight you already had prior to the thyroid problem. The idea that hypothyroidism is the cause of obesity is not supported in research and shouldn't be an excuse. Yes, it makes exercising hard when you have no energy but such is the fate of chronic illness. Signed, slowly working off the 40 lbs I gained when my thyroid when kaput and my energy vanished. |
Fat or not, if you're not happy get up yourself. I was there first. |
By definition, if you're sitting on my lap, I was there first. |
