Richard Montgomery HS: 1953 students, rating of 7, 16% FARMS
Walter Johnson HS: 2003 students, rating of 8, 6% FARMS

Let's pick out some of:
Gaithersburg (aka Ghettosburg) HS: 2002 students, rating of 6, 30% FARMS
Kennedy HS: 1552 students, rating of 4, 41% FARMS
Einstein (aka Crimestein) HS: 1570 students, rating of 5, 37% FARMS

To sum: RichMo and Rockville aren't in the same SES class as Walter Johnson or Wootton. Neither are they in the same class as Kennedy/Einstein. I do have to wonder about people who'd be so deep into school snobbery as to avoid RichMo and Rockville.

What does FARMS mean?

RM is one of the top schools in the county, and is even ranked highly nationally. The negative posts about it mystify me!

The kids who qualify for free/reduced lunch. You know, the dreaded *poors*. THATS why all the school snobbery IMO.

Why doesn't Kennedy get a mean nickname like Gaithersburg and Einstein?

Those are the posters of the wealthy who are upset that the poorer areas kids also get to go to a good school

Completely agree. There isn't a rough side to Rockville. Posters that claim otherwise need to be dropped off in Anacostia. Rockville is a great city and we are very happy in the RM cluster.

You are so childish. I hope you do not pass on this attitude to your children. And this is coming from someone lives in the Wootton school zone. Geesh - if we can't act mature, how can we expect our kids to???? You're an ass.

22:22 again. If you work in DC, I'd look close to the Metro, especially with gas prices about to take off. RM cluster fits the bill.

So why did you move to the Wootton zone and not the Kennedy/Einstein zones? It's cheaper in Wheaton, I understand.

I am not aware of a mean nickname for Kennedy.

Langley kids call McLean the "ghetto" there was one incident where Langley students made racial slurs against the (mostly-Black) McLean dance team. So it'll always be relative.

What about Magruder? It's a rockville school I don't hear/see much about.....

Thoughts on the Manor Woods neighbhorhood near Aspen Hil?

We're in the Manor Lake/Flower valley Neighborhood and love it. Kids still in elementary sch and we've been happy with the quality and sense of community there. Neighbors have kids in rockville high and i haven't heard any of them complain. Come check it out yourself rather than rely on hearsay.
