OP here. Is it crazy to attempt to host this part at our house?
Can you recommend a balloon artist who can create the dohl table at my house? I'm also interested in getting food catered. |

16:38 here. You could absolutely do it at your house! We went the restaurant route more for my parents than anything else. If and when we have another kid, that dol will most likely be at our house. (Which I'm surely set him/her up for a lifetime of resentment and bitterness. Oh well.)
My notes say Bora Eun did our balloons. I don't have her contact information, but you could probably get it from Palace. The food at Palace was decent, which might have had something to do with the change in ownership or management last spring (or so I heard). I can't remember if there was enough meat, but I know we had tons of leftovers. If the venue doesn't matter because you're having it at home, I'd just go with your favorite restaurant. Most Korean places will accommodate catering to the extent that they'll take the order and prepare the food, although not many will go off-site to set up, serve, and clean up (Woo Lae Oak being one of the exceptions). |
| You can also order food catering from Korean groceries such as Korean Korner. You have to pick them up. |

we used Inhar Chong for our photography too, she's awesome.
you dont HAVE to do it at a korean restaurant, we choose not too. Some other options are Chef Geoff's (max is 65 guests) Wild Fire, Chima, and Maggiano's. we got our dduk (korean rice cake) from Annandale Catering, they do food too. havent worked with Chris myself, but her work is pretty amazing https://www.facebook.com/pages/Cre8ive-Chris/126266717386133 |
| SO glad I found this thread! Planning to have my son's dol at our house and finally getting around to doing my homework and am so overwhelmed! Any suggestions for Maryland vendors, especially for dduk? I'd love to go the DIY-route for the dolgabi towers - any advice? Suggestions on an affordable route for invitations but a step up from evite? If you did the dolgabi raffle, what was your prize for the winner? |
| Check out Etsy there are lots of towers, printables for sale and reasonably priced. Another good website is www.littlelotusparty.com and I think someone mentioned www.littleseoulsparty.com |
