Don't bother with the Gap, they're the same company as Old Navy. |
When I worked @ Anne Klein we smelled this must smell and had to pack up most of the clothes because the company found out they were moldy from the manufacturing point and I smell it at Gap. |
I have an expensive denim jacket from Nordstrom Rack that I still can't wear after several washes. |
I would return it. Even if it's beyond the return period. I know it's not regular Nordstrom, but I would give it a try with it being a Nordstrom company. |
Old Navy is apparently still having the problem. I recently bought a pair of jeans, made in Pakistan, that smells moldy. I washed them twice and they still smell. They made my entire closet smell too. I'm going to try the baking soda wash that was recommended in one of these posts. If that doesn't work, I'm returning them. |
Hmm, water damaged goods, sounds like they're finally doing old navy at Old Navy.
But, yikes, if it smells like mold, there are spores. Don't buy them. Definitely return them with complaints. There are so many allergies, why mess around? |
Still happening at Old Navy--both from 2 stores and online. Washed 4 times and still bad. And gets on whatever else I wash them with. Getting better, but still bad. Unbelievable. |
Like the Seinfeld Episode...........They still stink !
Here is my theory........... Not musty order due to dampness..... Was in Old Navy Outlet in MA last night. I was asked if I needed assistance. I handed the sales associate a pair of Black Super Skinny off the shelf and asked her how do I get the smell out. No answer other than did I try laundry refresher. I have tried everything. I too have become a jean sniffer. The pair that I got "stuck" with is now only for outdoor events. Can not be worn in small spaces as it was noticeable when my sister got in the car last week after many washings using various "get the stink out" products. Appears to be impregnated with the smell. I think it may have to do with cheap spandex made from recycled polyurethane. It smells just like where I work when we have a burn out on one of the forming lines, we are a Plastics Thermoformer and work with all types of plastics which includes polyurethane. Thank you ! |
Now I'm paranoid and going home to smell the pair of Old Navy jeans I own. |
Just washed DD new Old Navy jeans that stink.
Here's what I tried for the first wash; warm water, tide pod, 2 rinses, one with vinegar and water solution, added Downey fabric softener and for fun, added those Downey scent pebble sprinkles. Hanging them to air dry but I can still smell the odor. I'll repeat the above sequence, but may consider presoakng in baking soda and water in the wash tub and dry out in the sun. If this fails, I will give up. And it's a mothball-like, cloying, slightly sulfur smell. |
I been wearing Old Navy Jeans forever!!! For the past 3 years my pants have smelled like dirty stale laundry, maybe even poop.. Every where I go I get talked about in my community and known as dirty. Manufacturers that make these jeans 👖 need to be mindful of what they’re putting in their clothing.. I by clothes and the moment I wash them they get on every piece of clothing I have. But it’s my more like my jeans or any causal pants that I have. I’m embarrassed, and devastated, what person or woman once to be remembered as dirty and stank.. |
I just received a perfectly normal smelling pair of Old Navy medium wash jeans in the mail this week.
My only complaint is that these are only "boyfriend fit" if your "boyfriend" is a pear-shaped woman with some serious hips. |
Well if they’re fine, then your situation doesn’t apply to everyone else’s stalker…. |
I love Old Navy jeans. I’ve never noticed this problem. |
I am so confused by this whole thread. Why are people keeping these gross smelling pants. Take them back. There are tons of other places to buy jeans in this world besides old navy! |
