Does the mini pill affect libido?

I don't think the regular pill is unsafe for breastfeeding, but it can reduce milk supply. That's what my midwife told me when we discussed it at my 6 week PP appointment.

OP here - Just wanted to post what my OB told me yesterday, which is that indeed, the regular pill does affect and reduce milk supply. Which, unfortunately, is something I care about. So I suppose I'll stick with it and try to get my mind into the game a bit more. Apparently with women it's all about the mind. Yeah, what a bunch of baloney.

However, I'm just not feeling up for anything, and wondering if it could be the pill. Could also be, of course, the lack of sleep and other stress, but I'm not sure.

Has anyone else felt not quite right libido-wise during this period?

Two parts- I felt low libido wise when i was bfing and not on the pill. I got off it because of headaches- and whoa whoa whoa- it's like being 19 again. I thought i was just getting boring- turns out it was the pill. This was the acse with lots of different pills over the years.

I never filled my prescription for mini pill, partially because I had absolutely zero libido while Breastfeeding. Libido returned when my period did.

But it was definitely the pill, like night and day. I came across a study a few months later that fit me to a T. And I've been one of the (un)lucky 10% for whom quitting the pill hasn't reversed the effects. So do beware. It's not common, but it's devastating.

Estrogen messes with breastfeeding/milk supply
so the Mini pill doesn't have estrogen

I took the mini pill for years and had no issues - breastfeeding definitely killed my drive though - in addition, turned out I went hypothyroid post partum and only learned at 10 MO PP when I went to our infertility Dr to get started on number 2 and they ran blood work - suddenly made a lot of sense as to why I was SO tired!!
