Move to the other side of the parkway - hunt valley, orange hunt, sangster. Some homes off Gambrill may feed into hunt valley, too....they did years ago.

Some of the houses right by St. Raymonds feed into Hunt Valley. The HV houses are more expensive and are much slimmer pickings, but many of the Newington homes are newer and nicer.

My recommendation is to go to the fcps site and look up the test scores by demographic for Newington to see if the scores for your family's demographic is something you are comfortable with, then decide if you want your kid to attend that school.
