LOL 11:55. Do you really think that a 7 year old cares that he only has two minutes or is experienced enough as a test taker to consciously monitor time as he/she codes away. Picture the 7 year old boy with developing fine motor( behind that of a girl) drooling as he concentrates .... remember, you only have 120 seconds.Maybe if you said, "let's race...first one done is the king" , but honestly ," you have two minutes to draw as many of the corresponding symbols that match using this code as a guide..ready, please start"
Come one, its a stupid thing to test a 7 year old on. |
| Fwiw, I just received the WPSSI-III test results for my 4yo daughter. The overall score was 131 (98th percentile), with verbal at 147 (99.9 percentile) and performance at 112 (78.8 percentile). The write up indicated that such differences were not unusual for that age. |
| Our DD scored 94% Verbal and 17% performance. She has a visual processing issue, probably a NVLD, and social delays that impacted her test performance. |
| For those who discovered a potential issue through this testing, how did that info impact your choice of where to apply? |
Our DS had almost the exact same scores and probably similar issues. We decided to focus on schools that have a learning center or learning specialists on staff. |
| I am trying to figure out the best school/placement/accomodations to help my son; but despite my seeking help at his public school, we haven't gotten anywhere except with a 504 plan for additional test time and breaking up assignments. He is bored, gets into trouble; struggles with written work. His WISC-IV for Verbal VCI was 126, but all other scores were lower, with memory significantly lower - PRI 104; Working Memory (score of 97; comparatively very low!) Processing Speed (score of 109). He has signficant written and visual planning issues and I'm told he has severe ADHD and PDD, but all the accomodations they give him he feels are stupid and babyish and aimed at lower intellectual functioning and we are struggling! help! |
