Friend suggestions-How does Facebook know this sh*t?

I just learned about this. I feel very exposed and naive, I guess. Although I was getting suspicious when DCUM ads were popping up items I'd just searched online.

Supposedly google is not storing any of the info they use to target your ads. But I don't trust them either.

I get friends of friends only on FB. I don't know lots of the people listed because I have wide circles of friends from all over. It never freaked me out because we always had at least 1 friend in common.

I had trouble this year because I would research gifts for my kids on-line and then ads for those items would show up later when they were on. Started deleting my cookies every time.
