Black Salt (seafood)
Central Proof |
Black Salt is just, meh. |
| If you want a "DC landmark" type place, go to Tabard Inn. I wouldn't call it "farm to table" but the food is seasonal and wonderful. Great ambiance and service. We love it. |

The new washingtonian best restaurants says its temporarily closed. Op I'd check out the January Washingtonian which has the 100 best restaurants. I'd look at Vermillion, L'Auberge Chez Francois for lunch, Central. |

I love Rasika and Blacksalt. Never had anything but an outstanding meal at either place. Central is also excellent.
I think Komi is overpriced. |
2941 is only closed for 2 weeks. |
| Look at some of the many offerings for restaurant week...lunch is 20.12 and dinner is 30.12 ...also look at opentable.com offerings...several restaurants have 30% off if you buy a ten dollar reservation online. Also look at restaurant.com...we bought a $150 voucher for River Inn at Watergate for a few dollars... |

Yes, def a DC landmark. Easter brunch there was scrumptious. |
| MINIBAR!!! |
Interesting. Apparently it was long enough to get them dropped from the best restaurant list. |
| Fiola for an amazing northern Italian meal. (Can be pricey, depending on what you order, but worth it.) Central is also excellent and reasonably priced. Minibar is foodie heaven, but very expensive. |
| While not upscale or even fitting the OP's criteria in the least, but yummy comfort food (esp. The miniburgers) is "Matchbox." |
| Notti Bianche in foggy bottom--the pasta is to die for |
