| OP here. Thanks everyone. I am going to keep the food processor. I bought some veges for soup so I will try it out this coming weekend. |
I consider the "regular" blades the ones that have the two blades sticking out (one for chopping one for dough). I use the disk that has the shredder (disk style) to shred cheese or potatoes for latkes. I use the two blade style when shredding parmesan. I use the disk style with the one large slot for stir fry veggies. |
| OP here. Just wanted to say thank you for the input. I kept the food processor and use it so often that it has earned a place on my kitchen counter. I had no idea how easy it makes meal prep. |

I actually DON'T use it for soup prep-- it makes the vegetables too thin, and they cook to mush in no time flat.
But I DO use it for kabobs (grating the onion, then blending in the meat and spices), pesto, cheeseballs, and a dozen other things. |
That is great! I love mine, I use it almost daily. It marginalized my Kitchen Aid mixer. One thing I learned the hard way, DON'T use it for mashed potatoes. It WAYYYYY over processes them and turns them into the weird consistency that happens when they are over whipped. I make awesome pizza dough in mine, it is so simple! |
