Your menu sounds ideal for an elderly non-adventurous family. If you want to jazz it up, my grandparents always ordered a big tray of shrimp cocktail to pass around the table along with the ham and vegetables. That was their idea of fancy and it worked for our family at the time.

OP" thanks for all the suggestions. You have to understand that the first time I asked about Christmas snacks or appetizers (7 years ago at my first IL Christmas) they looked at me like "WHAT"??
This isn't an hor d'ouevre family. And they would be embarassed if anyone saw them picking up a whole pre-made meal at the Super Wally. I did find a Honey Baked Ham location about 30 minutes away. That might be worth it.... Ahh, in laws. They are the loveliest people, it is just getting used to a family dynamic that isn't your own... |
