Some of the houses near Chain Bridge probably have a pretty nice view, but the houses with a view are pretty expensive.
High View Park - North Arlington (22207). Feels quiet, but from many points in the rolling hills you can see the bright lights of Ballston and Clarendon.
Houses in N Arlington and McLean off Chain Bridge Road
Franklin Park and Salona Village in McLean both have many streets with gentle hills and very nice views.

Some of the best views - Country Club Hills in North Arlington... some houses have views of the golf course at Washington Golf & CC, or the Georgetown/monument side of DC.
There are four new, super-luxury townhomes on Glebe Road right next to Marymount University, that have views of the golf course and the DC monuments. Going for in the $3M range but I'm not sure if they've all sold. |
Some of the Goshen areas of Gaithersburg (rolling hills and valleys) and Laytonsville (farmland and open spaces).
Hallowing Point, Harbor View Mason Neck VA
Interesting suggestion about Country Club Hills -- I have no desire to look at a golf club!
Certain areas in Darnestown have very pretty views of Sugarloaf mountain. They are even more beautiful at sunset.
Anacostia has great views of DC.
Someone upthread mentioned Columbia Heights. I agree-- the hill near Cardozo High School really has one of the best prospects.
Southwest Waterfront - river *and* monument views from many of the buildings on 4th street.
Downtown Frederick is really charming, I think! Lots of little shops and restaurants in rowhouses. The main drag reminds me of Old Town Alexandria or Georgetown. There's even a scenic canal. And you can see Sugarloaf Mountain off in the (near) distance.
I agree, and in a few years the Ballpark district, whose parks are being developed beautifully, will have many options with lovely views. |
Rosslyn behind the Iwo Jima.
