Organic milk at Trader Joes & Whole Foods cost $3.59 a gallon. Don't buy Horizon.

Because what is done to these animals - whether it is a cow producing mike or a pig you will eat - effects the nutritional value of the resulting food, which in turn effects your health and well-being. Just one example is that the nutritional profile of the beef we eat has changed dramatically in the last 50 or so years because of the change in farming practices (basically, the amounts of omega fats in meat).

Just finished reading "The Omnivores Dilemma - A Natural History of Four Meals" by Michael Pollan. Highly, highly recommend.

I would never buy "grocery store brand" milk except for Whole Foods -- I actually care about animal welfare.
