I second the nerds recommendation. I know several people for which it has worked. And it makes it fun instead of stressful.

I work with a compounding pharmacy in Arlington to make my 4yo medicine into suppositories. Otherwise, during winter time if he has to take antibiotics it's the only way meds will get in. He can't swallow yet and can taste the medicine in apple sauce.

I feel for you.
