Multiple food allergies

Read Kelly Dorfman's book, What's Eating Your Child. She has lots of info on picky eating. Also, schedule a consult with her. Your child may have nutrient deficiencies due to picky eating/leaky gut issues.

OP - first my sympathies. Food allergies plus picky eating is a challenging combination.

First, the skin test as described by you sounded like it lacked quality control. wiping a needle just sounds odd. So, go see a Pediatric Allergist who is familar with picky eaters. I think that there have been posts on this board about some pediatric allergists who are doing ground breaking work introducing microscopic doses of an allergen to patients in a hospital setting as part of a desensitization program. The bottom line being that there are really world class allergists in the DC region. If you have food allergies coupled with picky going to a pediatric allergist who is aware of feeding issues will save you a lot of time and heartache.

Second, you might also want to consider seeing a GI doc. I say this as someone who only recently discovered that my picky eater who has both food and environmental allergies has stealth reflux.

Third, you might want to consider working with a feeding therapist to help your child incorporate more foods into his diet that are less likely to be allergenic. (e.g., brocolli is a good one).

Fourth, while some of the posts about leaky gut are off putting - if your child's is experiencing low level inflamation on a constant basis that is not a great thing in the long run. There is a gut/body connection. While the whole leaky gut paradigm is offputting - just perhaps think about the issue as combating low level inflamation. Have you looked into family history. Any sensitive/picky eaters in your family tree?

Fifth - if your child is on such a limited diet - please consider consulting a nutritionist. you might need to get them on a complete multi-vitamin. There are some great complete liquid multivitamins. I noticed an immediate mood improvement with my selective eater when we started those. (could not get him to swallow the pills or chew the gummies which are bad for the teeth anyway).

Also mild eczema is his body trying to tell you something is wrong. I can't believe a trained allergist would tell you to keep feeding him things that are causing that.
